What is personal property?
If you were to take your home, condo, apartment, or rental and shake it upside down, anything that would fall out is considered personal property.
Will I get a refund when I switch insurance?
Yes, if you have paid in for insurance that you haven't used completely you will be returned the unearned premium.
When can I switch insurance?
You are able to switch your insurance whenever you want. Sometimes a commercial policy might have a 10% short rate penalty for switching midterm. Personal lines policies mostly to not have short rate penalties.
What is escrow billing?
Escrow billing is where your lender pays the cost of the home premium every year from your escrow account. A portion of your mortgage payment every month gets put into an escrow account which then is used to pay for your insurance every year.
What is the difference between replacement cost and purchase price?
Replacement cost is how much it would take to rebuild your property with the same materials. This does not include the value of land. Purchase price is how much a home sells for and includes the land value.
Can you cancel my old insurance for me?
Yes, typically we will need a copy of your current declaration. We will then draft up a cancellation for you to e-sign and send over to your previous insurance company/agency.
